That Sign Language Interpreter At Nelson Mandela’s Funeral Was Signing Gibberish

Imagine being home, watching a live program in a foreign language and the program’s interpreter speaking nonsensical bullshit. Well, it happened. At the worst place for it to happen.

Apparently, that sign language interpreter that was at Nelson Mandela’s memorial, presumably signing for deaf attendees and viewers, was a fake and a phoney. According to the AP, the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages.

How does this even happen?!

Because obviously, all those hand movements looked sign language-y enough for whoever the hell was in charge of the guest list. The guy probably got there, did the “peace up, A-town down” sign and was immediately rushed to the stage, where he was an arm’s reach away from all kinds of dignitaries, including President Obama. Which means if this man were an assassin, that ol’ wacky Joe Biden would be our president right now.

I don’t know much sign language but thanks to Barney And Friends, I do know the alphabet, how to say “I love you” and “thank you.” Never know when you have to thank a deaf person. I say that to say, someone in the audience should’ve noticed the guy was a fraud when President Obama said, “Thank you.” Unfortunately, only people at home noticed the fuckery that was going on.

“He’s a complete fraud. He wasn’t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around,” said Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town.

Literally. Flapping. His. Arms. Around.

Check out the video below. And if you dare laugh, add it to the already lengthy list of why you’re going straight to hell when you’re dead and gone. I’ve already added it to mine.
