Goalie Tim Howard Scores From Own Half

Take a look at this unbelievable goal by Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard scoring from his own box (insert joke here) during Wednesday night’s EPL action. Credit this play on shoddy defending or just a lucky bounce but this is one of the craziest goals you will ever see. The score was a career first for Howard, a New Jersey native and also the starting keeper for the US national team.

Coincidentally, fellow American international and recent MLS Cup champion Landon Donovan debuted on his loan to the club. American soccer players in England are like Chinese basketball players in the NBA – rare as well as hailed for just being there. But with Howard, Donovan and Fulham striker Clint Dempsey to name a few, there is no debate about the legitimacy of American born players.

Honorable mention has to go to Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye and his free kick goal against Manchester United handing them their back to back losses and three points behind their cross town rivals at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
