Does This Woman Deserve Your GoFundMe Dollars To Remove Her ‘420’ Forehead Tattoo?

The crowdfunding platform GoFundMe was founded with the noblest of intentions, aiming to give those in need a platform to raise money for everything from life events such as weddings to covering medical bills due to accidents and illness. But what constitutes a worthy cause is such a fine line, and for every 9-year-old philanthropist raising money to build homeless shelters, you’ve got the lady who wants her life savings back after blowing it all on Powerball tickets or Tila Tequila wanting you to buy her new furniture.

Such is the case of a woman named Tabitha West, who is asking for the internet’s mercy to help her out with $800 to remove a tattoo emblazoned with “420” across her forehead. She makes her case on her GoFundMe page, with a big [SIC] to all of this:

I am wanti,g $ to get that tattoo off my for head I want to have a better start out in life and have a second chance at life please help me I was young n dumb when I got that I’m older one looking for a job can’t get out and people call me a druggie every day of my life and being called 420 is not nice and I almost killed my self over it. ..can’t stand to look at my face anymore. .save a life save me..invest in me and I will show you I can be better with my life. ..thank you

Her campaign has already been fully funded to the tune of $915, and as of now, GoFundMe has not removed it as a violation of the site’s terms and conditions. But that doesn’t mean that people aren’t pissed about what seems like a gross misuse of crowdfunding, with many leaving irate comments like these (including West’s own brother, apparently):

gofundme-1 gofundme-2 gofundme-3

If this woman does receive her donations, with any luck, she’ll at least make good on her promise to have the tattoo removed and hopefully start making better decisions with her life.
