Got Beef Over Xbox Live? Call the SWAT Team On Your Opponent

I’m sure we’ve all participated in our fair share of internet sh-t talking, especially when gaming against opponents. While most arguments are usually settled on the digital battlefield, there’s the special few who can carry that grudge even after the power switch has been shut off. So was the case for a 26-year-old Eugene, Oregon, man who found himself face to face with his local SWAT Team after an online opponent placed a fake call using his home address.

The two gamers were playing FortressCraft over the Xbox Live Indie channel, when an argument started after our victim refused to give up some requested in-game content. The 26-year-old was then warned that his personal information was exposed, info which investigators are pretty sure allowed the gaming opponent to access the home address of the victim. After calling in a false report that he had just shot his father and was preparing to commit suicide, it was only a matter of time until a 14 man train of machine guns kicked in our victim’s front door.

An investigation is currently underway to track down the guilty party who phoned in the prank call and reward him for the best Xbox Live burn ever. If nothing else is learned here today, at the very least, I feel we should all understand the dangers that surround playing FortressCraft.
