Grumpy Cat Will Be The First Cat Immortalized By Madame Tussauds

Grumpy Cat is about to make quirky tourist attraction history! The viral internet sensation is going to become the very first cat to be immortalized by the geniuses at Madame Tussauds. But rather than having her likeness recreated in wax, Grumpy Cat will be turned into a moving animatronic figure. The realistic-looking Grumpy-bot will perform five different grumpy movements typical of an adorable, curmudgeonly cat. When reached for comment, Grumpy Cat had this to say:

“This is truly an honor…” said a distinctly unimpressed Grumpy Cat. “I hate it.”

Since bursting onto the scene in 2012, Grumpy Cat has become a huge attraction, not just for the internet, but also people willing to watch her on TV and buy things — with their cash money — featuring her image. Grumpy Cat has been such a success that she is now a cat who is worth more than most humans. And despite possible usurpers to the ornery animal throne, Grumpy Cat is going to remain Queen of the Castle for a very long time.

Here is Her Mad-jesty sitting for her measurements at Madame Tussauds:

Grumpy Cat’s mechanical doppelganger will be unveiled at the museum’s San Francisco location before taking off for a grand tour at Madame Tussauds’ other five locations. So, sigh deeply and clear your calendars.
