Oscar-winners Colin Firth and Sandra Bullock do it. Comedians Dave Chappelle and Tim Allen do it. Ever since the days of The Three Stooges, people have been barking in movies and on TV.

Why do they do it? They do it to let off steam, to intimidate someone, to get a laugh, or just because they feel like it. They bark, woof, yip, or throw back their heads and howl at the moon.

Whatever the reason, Wiseguy Pictures put together this supercut of people barking in movies and on television — everything from Twin Peaks to The Shaggy Dog. It is weirdly impressive, but they did miss one important moment of barking/howling from Gilmore Girls:
