Inaccurate information continues to spread on Twitter extremely fast, and today was no different when a fake Hillary Clinton campaign ad featuring a bearded, tattooed man was circulating throughout the Twitterwebs. The ad, which also uses the Democratic presidential candidate‘s campaign logo, reads “I’m with her. I am man enough to vote for a woman. Are you?” and features the hashtag #ManEnough4Hillary.
According to Jezebel, the image first appeared on this Twitter user’s account, and it didn’t take others long to discover that the man in the ad was actually a stock model on Shutterstock. It also didn’t take them long to find out that he appeared in other campaigns — like one for Syphilis awareness in Portland.

The #ManEnough4Hillary hashtag first appeared on Twitter a few months ago, created by actor Craig Young. Many of Clinton’s supporters also use the #ImWithHer hashtag.

Many of those on Twitter had different opinions on the hashtag and the fake ad, and they even threw in a few STD jokes.

Jezebel reached out to a Clinton campaign spokesperson and they confirmed the ad is indeed fake. “This is not an ad from the campaign,” the spokesperson said.
Maybe next time someone creates a fake ad they’ll select a stock model or photo that hasn’t been used in other . . . umm, easy to find campaigns.
