Give This Epic Hot Wheels Joyride A Gander While We All Wait Patiently For ‘Fast 8’

If the shows Stranger Things and Mr. Robot had a YouTube baby, this video uploaded to the 5MadMovieMakers YouTube channel would be that beautiful offspring. In the video titled “Hot Wheels Road Trip,” we see the very awesome result of what happens when old school toys meet modern day technology. The users created the video by strapping a GoPro Hero4 Session camera to the back of a modified 2014 Pharadox Hot Wheels car, then sending it on its way on a two-minute POV ride that takes us up-and-down 200 feet of twisting and turning tracks that are connected by “teleporting tunnels.”

At one point the car inexplicably dives into a pool and finds its way safely out through the bottom; it’s not the most believable thing in the world, but it’s bad ass nonetheless. According to the user the entire video is made sans any sort of motor or any camera tricks. “Each section worked on its own from tunnel to tunnel,” they explain. “The cart is powered entirely by gravity at all times.”

The entire thing makes us miss our childhood enough to want to run out to the nearest KB Toys to buy ourselves some Hot Wheels. We don’t care that the video looks heavily edited, we want the makers of this video to be our best friends and sleep over this weekend.
