On this day thirteen years ago, the godfather of gangsta rap, Eric “Eazy-E” Wright, was sent to a better place.
While his career seems so far in the past at this point, his legacy remains stronger than ever. Through the artists he’s groomed, inspired and birthed, his menacing grill, black Compton hat and limo-tinted Locs will stay in the public eye for years to come. For better or worse, who knows where rap would be at today without this man.
Rest In Peace.
