Is This Sony Vita Ad Too Sexy For The Internet? Apparently So.

We all know that in product marketing — and that goes for all forms of media — sex sells. From makeup products, to cigarettes, to magazines, everyone likes to look at good-looking people doing perhaps some naughty things (or at least making naughty innuendos). But for the video game industry — which caters to a young demographic — apparently there is a line, and Sony just crossed it.

The Verge first reported on this Remote Play feature ad, which first appeared on Sony’s YouTube channel, that equates the flexibility of the function with wacking one’s wang. “In your bedroom under the blankets. Or perhaps you prefer the kitchen. Or on the toilet. Or do you like it out in the garden?”

On the toilet? Really?

“Everybody’s doing it.”

Oh. Well, if everyone is doing it on the toilet…

The ad featuring a sexy, sultry doctor (um…where’s her practice located?) first appeared online this past Friday — created by European ad agency 180 Amsterdam — and has since been pulled from Sony’s channel. Listen, I’m not one for censorship, and I actually find the advertisement funny and clever, but in a time where sexism and sexual objectification of women is being highly scrutinized (*cough Bill Cosby cough*) this ad is in bad taste.

Check out the spicy video up top, and decide for yourself.
