Jamal Crawford & Tyreke Evans Have A Good Ol’ Fashioned Shootout

The usual cast of characters are scary, but imagining myself trying to guard Jamal Crawford is utterly petrifying.

The Seattle native, along with Tyreke Evans, put on a show as the two combined for 88 points in the All-Star Game at the Seattle Summer Pro-Am Basketball League. Obviously, a chunk of the talent level paled in comparison to what they normally experience in the winter and spring, but everyone appeared to enjoy themselves as the Clipper went for 46 points and the newly-acquired Pelican for 42.*

Speaking of Reke, he got up close and personal with Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn via a crossover. No worries, though, McGinn shook it off, kept his composure and dropped off a no-look dime on the very next play.* Not bad for a guy who’s running for re-election, and has a large contingent of Sonics fans already in his corner. Our own Julie J. is not one.

Meanwhile, Crawford ended up nailing the game winning three at the buzzer giving the Blue Team a 139-138 victory in what had to be one of the best basketball moments for residents of the Emerald City in years.

Oh, but seriously, Crawford is going to legit break someone’s ankle in a game like this. It’s not going to be pretty, but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t run it back multiple times.

* – As BDL’s Dan Devine notes, however, life has a weird way of playing jokes. Of all the players for Mayor McGinn to get crossed by, it had to be one who played for the team his city was trying to acquire.
