Jay Z Is Headlining The Made In America Festival This Year

The annual Made In America Festival, hosted each year in Philadelphia, unveiled its lineup this morning and it’s a doozy. At the top of the bill sits the festival’s founder Jay Z. Other headliners include J. Cole and the Chainsmokers. The rest of the lineup is filled out by the likes of Jay’s sister-in-law Solange, Migos, Run The Jewels, 21 Savage, Pusha T and DMX to name a few.

The inclusion of Hov into the festivities isn’t necessarily surprising, but it’s definitely intriguing, and should stir up the speculation that he’s about to drop a new album soon. He’s got another performance lined up this year at the V Festival in the U.K., but this appears to be his only live show in the U.S. in 2017 so far. The precedent for unveiling new material before a big festival has already been set by Kendrick Lamar who unleashed DAMN. just days before hitting the stage at Coachella a few weeks back.

It’s been four years since Jay put out his last solo album Magna Carta Holy Grail, and a lot has happened since that time. For one, his wife put out the stunning visual album Lemonade, that got a lot of people speculating about the state of their relationship. For the most part, Jay has remained quiet on the topic, with many fans speculating that he’s going to address the issue on his next full-length project.
