If there’s a few guarantees that come with Jennifer Lawrence appearing at the Oscars, one is that she’s going to trip — check — and the other is that there’s going to be some junk food smuggled in. Thanks to Us Weekly, we now have confirmation on the latter. Maybe someone should have mentioned there was going to be pizza delivered?
“When I’m presenting, I’m going to pour them into my mouth,” Lawrence joked of the Pop Rocks she pulled out of her purse, along with other snacks. Wearing a cherry color Dior Haute Couture gown with peplum ruffles at her waists, she quipped that her experience on the red carpet was similar to that of the 2013 Oscars, where she took home a Best Actress Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.
“I’m just as hungry and my feet still hurt,” the blonde star told Us. “I’ve got a Slim Jim and protein bar… and Pop Rocks.”
On one hand this feels very much like Jennifer Lawrence’s “shtick” that everyone is alternately enamored with or irritated by — but on the other side of the coin you can’t hold it against the girl for wanting to stay nourished. I probably would have opted for gummi bears instead of the pop rocks and slipped in a few fun-size bottles of wine, but that’s just me.
