Justin Timberlake Performs New Music At Super Bowl Party

Justin Timberlake can’t seem to do any wrong in his comeback to the music game. After releasing his new single “Suit & Tie” seemingly out of nowhere–and watching it shoot to number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in its first week–he quickly followed it up with an announcement of a fast-approaching new album, The 20/20 Experience, his first LP in more than six years.

With fans already clamoring for the release, JT is keeping busy ahead of the March 19 release date: there’s a video for “Suit & Tie” in the works with acclaimed director David Fincher, Timberlake will hit the stage a week from today at the Grammys, and there remains a tour and probably more singles to come.

Musically, “Suit & Tie” was a definite change of pace for the modern pop landscape, but if it was perhaps a bit loungy for some, footage from Timberlake’s gig at Mark Cuban’s DirectTV Super Bowl party should be reasonably assuring. Along with delivering a rendition of the album’s first single with help from an in-the-flesh Jay-Z, Justin also previewed two brand new songs–“Pusher Love Girl” and “That Girl”–presumably from The 20/20 Experience. Bolstered by JT’s in-form vocals and a decked out backing band, the retro inspired, soul-drenched numbers sound, well, pretty damn awesome.
