Just ahead of a rally organized by Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee in her benefit, the Federal District Court judge who put Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis behind bars last Thursday has now agreed to release her. Amid high tensions, Judge David L. Bunning claimed that his decision was based on the fact that the Rowan County Clerk’s office is now “fulfilling its obligation to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples.” However, should that change, Davis will find herself right back in jail, according to the New York Times.

Judge Bunning ordered that Ms. Davis “shall not interfere in any way, directly or indirectly, with the efforts of her deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples.” He he said that any such action would be regarded as “a violation” of his released order.

It’s unknown how Davis’ early release will affect the planned rally this afternoon, which is still scheduled to be taking place today at 3 p.m. outside of the Rowan County Courthouse. In an interview with Fox & Friends on Monday, Huckabee explained the purpose of the rally:

“The purpose of it is to show support for Kim and also to let the world know that it is unacceptable to put a person in jail without bail because she followed her conscience. And not only that, but she followed the only law that is in front of her.”

Presumably, Davis will now be joining Huckabee at the rally. As of earlier Tuesday afternoon, the former Arkansas governor was meeting with Davis prior to her release:
