Kim Kardashian West gave an interview in the newest episode of the Vogue podcast on Monday, where she spoke about her video game, blah blah blah, lifestyle apps, blah blah blah, and fashion, among other topics. It was when the subject of Paris Fashion Week came up (which she recently missed due to her pregnancy) that Kardashian began gushing about her love of the food in the city of lights — specifically, the cheesecake at Paris’ Hôtel Costes.
Although Kardashian says that she usually doesn’t care for cheesecake, she says that the cheesecake at Hôtel Costes is so good, that she once recently flew all the way to Paris just for a slice of it.
I flew in maybe like a couple months ago just to have a last like hurrah of all the food that, you know, I’m not going to be able to have for a while, and I get there and they tell me they didn’t have it. And I was like, you don’t understand, I leave tomorrow, and I flew all the way over here for — I think I flew for one night, maybe two nights — and they said, ‘Okay, we’re gonna get it.’ And they got it, and it really made my day.
It’s easy to want to snark on Kim Kardashian for being so frivolous as to fly across the damn ocean for a piece of dessert, but how many of us wouldn’t do the same if afforded the same opportunities? Hell, if it were up to me, I’d fly to New Orleans at least once per week just for happy hour and oysters. So, while one may be able to scrutinize every other aspect of Kim Kardashian’s life, flying to Paris for cheesecake is in all honesty the least dumb thing I’ve heard from her. YOLO, sister. YOLO.
