Kobe Bryant Says Oklahoma City Thunder Can’t Sit At His Lunch Table

“But really the fact is, we not in the same bracket/Not in the same league, don’t shoot at the same baskets…”Jay-Z

Let’s get one thing clear now. Whenever Kobe Bryant is inducted into the Hall Of Fame, there’s a very good chance his speech will be even more asshole-ish than Michael Jordan’s in 2009. And that’s perfectly fine. At this point in his career, Kobe’s approach to the game of basketball is exactly how those defending his honor do everyday. Rings, my friends. Rings.

Following a 100-85 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and his second consecutive bad shooting night on Thursday, Bean had this interesting comment in regards to the back and forth jarring he had with Kevin Durant and James Harden. “Maybe one day they’ll be able to sit at my lunch table. Right now we’re at two different lunch tables, man. The conversation’s pretty brief,” said the league’s top scorer. Not only would I like to know what’s actually discussed at Kobe’s lunch table, but the quote is pretty awesome in the fact that Kobe embraces his asshole tendencies to the utmost and never hides from them. Plus, trash talk is admirable if you can back it up. If nothing else, the next time these two squads take the same court, the Harden/Durant/Kobe dynamic will be something to keep an eye on.

However, there is something about OKC that Bryant does admire. Their ability to get easy shots for Durant is the reason they enter the All Star Break tied for the best record in the league; something he says the Lakers’ coaching staff has to be a better job of creating for himself, Pau and Andrew Bynum once the second half of the season resumes next week.
