Lil Bibby – “Water”

Bibby opts for the soulful route on “Water.” And what an excellent decision that was.

Black Metaphor’s production is the perfect backdrop for the young Chicago Bear’s tales of ghetto gospel and round-the-clock hustling. Despite not being of age to legally buy a bottle of liquor, there’s an old soul approach to Bibby when shedding light on the darker side of life in his hood; the same city which has subsequently come under national fire, literally and figuratively, in recent years.

Each glimpse into Free Crack only intensifies anticipation for November 29. If the quality holds court with what’s already been released, chances are a last-minute addition for one of 2013’s better projects could be in order.
