Louis C.K. Wore A ‘Charlie Hebdo’ Shirt During His Madison Square Garden Show

After news broke that gunmen killed 12 staffers of a satirical magazine in Paris, including four political cartoonists, comedians everywhere came to the defense of free speech. Tina Fey commented, “[We] cannot back down on free speech in any way. We all have to stand firm on the issue of free speech,” while Conan O’Brien added, “All of [us] here are terribly sad for the families of those victims, for the people of France, and for anyone in the world tonight who now has to think twice before making a joke. It’s not the way it’s supposed to be.”

During Louis C.K.’s sold-out stand-up show at Madison Square Garden last night, he proudly wore a t-shirt that read “Charlie Hebdo.”

Taking the stage at [MSG], the stand-up comic swapped his signature black T-shirt for a red one, on which he had written the words “CHARLIE HEBDO” in black ink. (Via)
