Matthew Stafford’s Wife Is None Too Happy About The NFL’s ‘Incompetent Refs’

The Detroit Lions are not a good football team. In fact, they are very bad. They are the only team in the National Football League without a win. They opened the season with a 21-3 lead over the Chargers only to get blown out in the second half. It’s been ugly since then with losses to the lowly Vikings and offensively challenged Denver Broncos.

Then came that Monday Night game against the Seahawks, a game where the offense couldn’t do anything until late in the fourth quarter. And that’s when the Lions gave fans hope with what is commonly referred to as fool’s gold, a 90-yard game-winning type drive from Matthew Stafford.

Then “the play” happened, a costly fumble by Calvin Johnson at the goal line and a botched call from the refs on the touchback.

It was atrocious, sure, a call 99 percent of officials would have (and should have) made. And yes, it was the second time in as many months that the refs hosed the Lions out of a sure victory.

So everyone in Detroit is, well, butthurt about the “Seattle Screwjob” (and deservedly so). One of those people is Matthew Stafford’s wife, former Georgia cheerleader Kelly Hall. She posted this exchange on her Instagram account.

Unsurprisingly the post was taken down because we live in a society where people can’t express their opinions on sh*tty NFL officiating or something. Also, for what it’s worth, this isn’t the first time Kelly Stafford has been caught talking trash on social media. During a particularly brutal game for Matthew Stafford in 2013, she let loose on Twitter.

To which one fan responded:

Anyway, this is all much ado about nothing. If Stafford’s wife wants to scream to the high heavens about incompetent officiating, by all means, go ahead. It’s not gonna change anything but it sure is entertaining in an otherwise slow sports week.
