Miami Football Avoids NCAA’s Full Wrath, No Postseason Ban On The Hurricanes

Rest easy, fans of “The U.” Your Hurricanes are bowl eligible. Controversy surrounded the school’s finally, for-the-first-time-in-years relevant football program, thanks to the kind of recruiting scandals that are typical in college football. Credit self-imposed sanctions for the NCAA’s merciful ruling . Due to “The U” willingly sitting out of postseason play for the last two years, the powers that be decided not to wipe out another season of bowl football.

Nine scholarships will be voided, but worse things have happened. For now, at least we can sit back comfortably knowing that there will never, ever be controversy surrounding Miami’s football program again. The Canes are currently ranked seventh in the BCS.
