“Micronauts” To Hit Silver Screen, Because Why Not

Hey, remember the Micronauts? No? Neither does anybody else, which is too bad, because they were actually pretty cool toys. They were all made to the same scale and all the body parts were swappable, which sounds pretty serial killeresque but was pretty cool. Also the comic books were pretty good, what with Bill Mantlo at the helm.

All that said, nobody cares about the Micronauts, especially since there have been a bunch of attempts to reboot the toyline which all failed miserably (it’s called the Micronauts curse). But that’s not stopping Hasbro, which got the rights in 2009, from trying to turn it into a similar profit machine like the Transformers.

We first heard about this in 2009, as one of the eleventy bazillion projects J.J. Abrams was supposedly working on, but it’s a lot more official now that we’ve got some screenwriters working on. Paul Wernick and Rhett Rheese wrote “Zombieland” and are currently turning out Deadpool and G.I. Joe scripts. Apparently this is next, and it’s a “priority movie project” to Hasbro.

Guys, stop goofing around and just get Robot Chicken to do it. You know you want to.
