The perpetually overworked Chris Hardwick is going to have to wait a little longer for a break from hosting a TV show. Comedy Central just renewed their late-night staple @Midnight With Chris Hardwick for a third season. That’s another 40-week run that will keep the Internet audience in good supply of filthy hashtag jokes told by the best comedians working today through at least 2016!
Host and producer Hardwick provided a statement, probably while also recording a podcast or getting ready for a San Diego Comic-Con panel:
“Comedy Central has been an amazing and supportive partner for @midnight and I cannot thank them enough. Making inappropriate jokes about Internet culture with my comedian friends is something I would do for the rest of my life if they’d let me. And this pick-up gives us the runway to tackle next year’s election, which I’m guessing will yield no shortage of social media gems.”
It’s no easy feat to make people like you in late-night, but Hardwick is like everyone’s silliest, savviest friend who makes your stomach hurt from laughing, so this show was destined to do well. Points!
