An important thing to remember about sports media trolls is that, as much as they gleefully dish out provocation at others, they’re incredibly thin-skinned when criticism is leveled at them. Such is the case with Mike Florio, who successfully parlayed a football news aggregation site into a career as a pointless TV pundit.

Yesterday, Florio churned out a story about the renovations being done to the Jaguars stadium, including the addition of what will be the NFL’s largest video board. When the story was linked from ProFootballTalk’s Twitter account, Jaguars mascot Jaxson DeVille took exception to a factual error in the story. From there, well, we’ll just let the Twitter drama play itself out for you.

Yes, not only did Mike Florio get into serious bout of name-calling with an NFL mascot on Twitter, he pulled out his own site’s traffic stats to belittle said mascot. Can’t think of a better epitome for the stupidity of sports media.
