Oh my goodness! It’s National Donut Day and we almost forgot to wish you a Happy National Donut Day on this most treasured American holiday. Did you know that National Donut Day was “created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I?” Well, now you do!
There are free donuts to be had everywhere today! Dunkin’ Donuts will give you a free one with the purchase of a beverage. And as you can see above, Krispy Kreme will apparently give you a free donut without any sort of purchase. (If you’ve never had a piping hot Krispy Kreme donut, you have not lived. Period!) And there are loads of smaller, locally owned bakeries doing similar things all across the land. So get out there and get you a free donut!
