Mac Miller – “Love Lost”

Not everyone has jumped aboard the Mac Miller bandwagon. However, as evidenced by his exponentially growing list of Twitter followers, the kid’s attracting someone to listen to his music. As promised by the young Pittsburgh native, he drops a new track with each wave of 100,000 followers he receives. In honor of the 400k mark, Mr. Miller drops “Love Lost” as a token of his appreciation to the Most Dope contingent.

The soulful sample bobs along as Mac channels the melodic energy of his latest project, Best Day Ever. He fits in plenty of breathless verses concerning the metaphorical girl he left behind to pursue his dream of dropping fun-loving bars for the masses. “Love Lost” isn’t his most polished track, but the subdued pop and concluding line “yeah, it gets no better” will resonate with listeners long after playing. In an age where young MCs can only elicit notoriety as horror-core footsoldiers, Mac proves that you don’t have to shock to get noticed.
