Jordan Brand Sold 300,000 Pairs Of The Toro 4s This Past Weekend So Nike’s Reportedly Jacking Up Prices

Last weekend saw the release of the Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo” and like most retro Jordan releases, they sold out pretty quickly.

According to sneakerologist Matt Powell, Nike sold 300,000 pairs of the all-red shoe, making it that week’s top seller. And because the Toro 4s retailed for $160, with some quick math done, Nike made an estimated $48 million in one weekend, a bulk of that probably made on July 13, the shoe’s release date.

Now, there are reports saying that Nike – Jordan Brand’s parent company – is looking to increase retail prices on their retro sneakers. A leaked product sheet found its way online recently and along with the brand’s spring 2014 releases was a new sale price of $170, a $10 increase of the current $160 retail price tag.

And here are some interesting stats to finish this post up.

So, who’s swearing off retro releases next year like they said they would last year and the year before that?
