Now Possibly Two Things About The Ender’s Game Movie Will Be Good — Ben Kingsley Joins the Cast

Last week we brought you the news that Hailee Stanfield had been cast in the upcoming Ender’s Game movie, and now it looks like another talented name has been added to it’s cast — Ben Kingsley is set to play a “a legendary war hero presumed to be long dead” in the film. Kind of a vague character description there, but you can probably speculate who they’re referring to.

Whether or not this bodes well for the film is hard to say. Ben Kingsley can be a great actor when he wants to be, but he’s also probably second only to Nic Cage when it comes to having absolutely no common sense or taste when it comes to choosing projects. Since the year 2000 he’s starred in great films like Sexy Beast, House of Sand and Fog and Hugo. He’s also appeared in Bloodrayne, The Love Guru and Lucky Number Slevin.

In other words, he’ll always improve any movie he’s in, but his name alone is far from a guarantee of quality.
