I’m not always psyched to get a new music video in my mailbox. Certain guys will always inspire a play-through, but especially if the song isn’t great, eh. Videos can get repetitive.

But catching a glimpse of one of your favorite up-and-comers gracing YouTube? Always a pleasure. And so it is with Openmic, who graces us with a visual treatment for “Sit Back,” a highlight off of For The Rebels 2. Produced by Gummy Soul, the track itself is as quality now as when it released at the tail end of 2013, thanks to tight lyricism and an on-point GLC feature.

And, nah, the actual visual element of everything isn’t going to blow anybody away, conceptually. But every subsequent release from a guy like OPENMIC – be it a single, remix, mixtape or video – is refreshing. Houses are built brick-by-brick, and a guy like ‘Mic can definitely make a brick exciting.
