Oscar Isaac’s Dancing In ‘Ex Machina’ Makes Every Song Better

Oscar Isaac is set to give us the Full Skeletor in X-Men: Apocalypse starting tomorrow, but before he blue himself, and before he was one hell of a pilot, he was winning us over with his dance moves in Ex Machina. It was a scene in which he and Sonoya Mizuno dance to Oliver Cheatham’s “Get Down Saturday Night” while a confused Domhnall Gleeson looks on.

Now a dedicated Twitter account has set out to prove this scene can work with (almost) any music. Oscar Dances has mashed up the Ex Machina scene with about a hundred songs so far, including Young MC’s “Bust A Move”, Beastie Boys’ “Intergalactic”, O-Zone’s “Dragostea Din Tei”, and even more esoteric picks like Guile’s Theme from Street Fighter. There were also some picks that absolutely should not have happened, like Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me”, not just one, but two Smash Mouth songs, and Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life”, which we all know is Kylo Ren’s theme song, not Poe Dameron’s. (Wake him up. WAKE HIM UP INSIDE.)

We’ve collected some of the funniest ones below, although we left out some that didn’t quite match, but we appreciated the effort, like Erasure’s “Always”, Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”, Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence”, and (of course) “Please, Mr. Kennedy” from that other Oscar Isaac / Adam Driver joint, Inside Llewyn Davis.

Never gonna give you up, Oscar Dances.
