Pepsi Ditches Lil Wayne, But His Publicist Says Split’s “Amicable”

After issuing an apology to the Till family earlier this week, PepsiCo – the parent company of Mountain Dew – has cut all ties with Lil Wayne over his controversial reference to Emmett Till on Future’s “Karate Chop.”

In a statement made late Friday, the company said Wayne’s “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon” did not reflect the values of their brand. However, according to Sarah Cunningham, Weezy’s publicist, Wayne being dropped was an amicable decision and due to “creative differences.”

Whatever the case, the DEWeezy website has already been scrubbed clean, but no word on what will happen to the DEWeezy skatepark or any other Mountain Dew x Lil Wayne collabs.
