Peter Jackson Proves He’s Filming The Hobbit

So, despite long delays, the quitting of Guillermo del Toro and every acting union in the planet threatening to boycott it (and then backing the hell off), apparently filming’s actually begun on the two-part film version of The Hobbit. And just in case you were still doubting, Peter Jackson put pictures of him on the Bag End set on the official movie blog, just to erase any lingering doubts.

The blog also announced that two more dwarves have been cast, with Jeffrey Thomas playing Thror and Mike Mizrahi playing Thrain. Now, if those dwarves don’t sound familiar, it’s because they were only mentioned in the book. (Thror was the father of Thrain, who was the father of lead dwarf Thorin Oakenshield. Thrain died before the book began, but before he did, he gave Gandalf his map to Mount Doom.) So, it looks like we’ve got some Dwarven flashbacks coming to the screen.
