Portlandia Turns Over Twitter Feed To Feminist Bookstore For The Super Bowl

Admittedly, I’m not a big fan of “hot sports takes from people who typically don’t watch sports” bits, but the kids at IFC are handing over their Twitter feed tomorrow to the volunteer-run In Other Words, a Portland feminist community center and the inspiration for the reoccurring “Women & Women First” feminist bookstore sketch on the network’s popular “Portlandia” comedy show.

What can we expect from the nice people over at @IOWBooks feed when they discuss the Super Bowl? Not sure, but I am guessing it’s a far cry from their usual Tweets.

Fine, I’ll go to a yoga class and maybe talk about my dreams.

Well now. I did not think to put that craft into my Super Bowl planning guides over the years, but perhaps I have been missing out.

Anyway, should be a fun time and I’m looking forward to all the sass they promise to bring, even if despite the fantasy we many of us have, Heather Graham is going not to show up and make-out with us journal reading class (or at home for that matter).

(For what’s worth, I have an Etsy store and regularly read Bitch Magazine, so the Portlandia sketch “She’s Making Jewelry Now” hits a little close too home, even for someone posts on a dick joke blog. So I see you, In Other Words, and the bird you put on your logo.)
