During a press conference today, President Obama said that it would be impossible to revoke the Presidential Medal of Freedom that Bill Cosby was awarded by George W. Bush in 2002. In the wake of the sexual assault allegations against Cosby (in addition to his own admissions found in court documents going back to 2005), a White House petition surfaced asking the president to strip him of the medal; a sentiment echoed by many members of congress.

Although Obama could not comment on the allegations directly, he did say this much:

I’ll say this. If you give a woman — or a man, for that matter — without his or her knowledge a drug, and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape. And I think this country, any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape.

Reading between the lines, it seems Obama’s feelings on the matter are pretty clear.
