What awaits us at the local comics shop this week?
- DC wraps up Voodoo, offers up more New Deadwardians, and launches Talon, which kind of comes off like they’re bringing Azrael back. But Scott Snyder is involved, so it’s on the list for that alone.
- Marvel seems to be taking a longer AVX break, so this week is mostly dedicated to stuff like Gambit and a surprising number of trade paperbacks, including a new Iron Man collection in the Marvel Masterworks line.
- Image launches Happy!, about a hitman meeting a blue cartoon horse, and has more Dancer and Prophet on the way.
- Dark Horse wraps up the latest Axe Cop miniseries and has more Goon.
- IDW’s adaptation of A Fine And Private Place, a novel by Peter S. Beagle, starts today. It also marks the return to comics of Peter Gillis, who worked in comics largely in the ’80s and and who apparently came back at Beagle’s personal request after a twenty year absence to adapt his work to comics. They also wrap up their Hawken miniseries, and have more of their superb Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover series.
- And BOOM! wraps up their Elric miniseries and has more Higher Earth and Adventure Time.
