Pusha T’s the designated bearer of bad news for G.O.O.D. Music.

During a recent interview with Charlotte radio station Power 98, he revealed that his solo album, My Name Is My Name, got pushed back by a month due to “politics and logistics.” Instead of the original July 16th release date, we can expect it “a month” later.”

Still, Pusha is confident on how the final product will be received. “My album is the best album of the year,” he boasted. “I think the streets are going to have a classic hip-hop album. My Name is My Name is definitely the hardest album that’s going to come out this year for sure.”

The release will feature production from Kanye West, Pharrell, The-Dream, and Swizz Beatz, as well as features by Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Future and Young Jeezy. As he revealed during the interview, the lead single, “Who I Am,” was a cut originally intended to be for Kanye.

“This record, man, I’m going to be honest. I had to fight and steal this record from ‘Ye.I heard the record and I loved it, and he called to tell me he wasn’t going to be able to give me the record. I ran in the studio real quick and laid a verse to it. I was like, ‘Nah, this is my record already. I already rapped to it. What are you talking about?’ We just went back and forth, and he ended up giving me the record… It’s just that energy I’m trying to bring back to the streets.”

Also while on the subject of Kanye, Pusha explained that the long-rumored but never confirmed crew follow-up, Cruel Summer, won’t be happening this summer or any time soon. “We’re not doing the Cruel Winter album or the Cruel Summer sequel,” said Push. As he continued, “There are too many projects we got going on,” alluding to the fact that the camp’s already got a full deck with Yeezus, My Name…, Big Sean’s Hall Of Fame and upcoming projects by 2 Chainz and Common.
