An Old Home Movie Has Surfaced Showing Queen Elizabeth II Performing A Nazi Salute

An old home movie showing Queen Elizabeth II performing a Nazi salute has made its way into the public eye. The disturbing black-and-white clip, thought to be filmed around the early 1930s, captures the young seven-year-old, then Princess Elizabeth, repeatedly raising her arm to the skies at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She is joined by her mother, younger sister Margaret, and uncle, who all also salute cheerfully for the camera.

Well-known academic Dr. Karina Urbach, an expert in German and British cultural/political relations, suggests that Princess Elizabeth’s uncle Prince Edward had likely taught them the gesture. “She was a child when this film was shot, long before the atrocities of the Nazis became widely known,” she told The Sun. “But Edward was already welcoming the regime as Prince of Wales in 1933 and remained pro-Nazi after war broke out in 1939.”

Aside from the controversial video, Urbach believes there’s more evidence out of there of Prince Edward’s “pro-Nazi sympathies,” but that they remain tightly under wraps within the Royal Archives:

“The Royal Archives have always ensured that letters from German relatives of the royal family in the run up to World War II remain closed.

“Naturally, such censorship has led to endless conspiracy theories.”

“Intelligence reports and German, Spanish and Russian documents show members of the British royal family were indeed far closer to Nazi Germany than has previously been recognized.”

In an official statement, a representative for Buckingham Palace did not deny the existence of the home video, saying, “It is disappointing that film shot eight decades ago and apparently from HM’s (her majesty’s) personal family archive has been obtained and exploited in this manner.”
