Barring the 49ers winning out and getting a ridiculous amount of help from other NFC Wild Card contenders, a decisive loss in Oakland spells the end of San Francisco’s playoff hopes for the 2014. If the rampant speculation and rumors about Jim Harbaugh’s relationship with the 49ers is to be believed, Harbs will shortly be exiting for a another team, possibly the one that just defeated him.

It was another rough outing for Colin Kaepernick, who is winding down his worst year as a pro with a string of poor performances. He had two interceptions against the Raiders, including one beamed directly at Charles Woodson. Meanwhile, Derek Carr had three touchdowns to go with 22 of 28 for 254 yards passing. Of the two, I’d still prefer Kaepernick as my team’s quarterback, but Carr was certainly the better of the two today.

A win over the 49ers is at or near the high point of any Raiders season and especially this one. At the same time, the Raiders victory draws them even at 2-11 with the Jets, Titans, Buccaneers and Jaguars for the no. 1 pick. Given that Oakland has now won two out of three, they’re in danger of playing themselves out of the top three in the draft with another victory.
