While looking at some of Elisabeth Fosslien‘s rap lyrics in chart form last night, it occurred to me rap music lends itself perfectly to graphical representation. Charting rap lyrics is nothing new; Rob Harvilla broke down the then-number-one song “This Is Why I’m Hot” with graphs way back in 2007. But there have been several other tracks worthy of the finest in Venn diagrams and bar graphs in the five years since then. How else would we know exactly how good it feels to be a gangsta without precise plotting on x and y axes?
