Another server was fired for making fun of a restaurant customer’s weight on their receipt — what makes this story different, however, is the server is the bar owner’s own son. On Tuesday night in Warwick, R.I., Dillon Arnold posted his receipt from a restaurant called All Stars Bar & Grill on his Facebook page, displaying where he was identified as “Fatty” and then said the bartender who was serving him wouldn’t own up to calling him the name, WJAR reports.

“I was signing my slip. I didn’t really pay attention to it yet, and then I just happened to read it and I saw it in the corner and I was like, ‘Wow,’ and my heart just dropped,” Arnold told WJAR.

After Arnold shared the humiliating receipt with his friends of Facebook, the image went viral, receiving over 1,000 shares. Restaurant owner Tony Ambrosio commented and apologized to Arnold, revealing the server in question was his own son who has since been fired. He called the situation “unacceptable” and “uncalled for” and even offered to give Arnold a $50 gift card.

“We sincerely apologize for your negative experience last night. It was very unprofessional to say the least. We take full accountability for what occurred and would like to make it up to you. Please call me so I can offer you something for the inconvenience. This should not have happened and my staff will be dealt with right away.”

According to WJAR, Ambrosio and his son have been attempting to apologize to Arnold in person, but Arnold says he’s not ready to meet with them yet. “He offered me a gift card, but I’d rather just not go there … It’s just so embarrassing,” Arnold said.

After receiving backlash on social media and from the community, the restaurant has posted an apology for the incident on its doors. “That’s not me. That’s not what I teach my children. Employees or my kids, I hold them all accountable,” Ambrosio said.
