Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Oscar Isaac fanned the Internet’s flames when he told Ellen that a “very subtle romance” is happening between Poe Dameron and Finn. “You know, you have to just look very close,” he continued, “you have to watch it a few times to see the little hints. But there was.” John Boyega unfortunately shut down the rumor; it’s not canon and only exists “in Oscar’s head.” That’s bad news for Poe/Finn shippers, but great news for this adorable family, who were discovered at Salt Lake City ComicCon.

Except now I have a million questions: Did Rey and Finn — who were brought together by Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-writer Lawrence Kasdan suggesting, “What if [Finn’s] a stormtrooper that ran away?” — “make” BB-8? If so, does that mean BB-8 has Skywalker blood, or is she somehow related to Obi Wan Kenobi? That crazy old wizard would probably be a terrible grandfather, bringing half-truth prophecies and Jawa cloaks as gifts instead of candy and games. Whatever the family genealogy, I hope BB-8 doesn’t have an uncle who looks like Oscar Isaac. That would be weird for the Poe/Finn shippers.
