This week, outspoken Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman embarked on an ambitious off-season plan to get into a Twitter argument with every active NFL player, including those currently on practice squads.
“It’s just something I have to do,” Sherman explained. “Can’t get complacent. I have to let them know I’m the best and they’re not.”
Sherman said there’s no rhyme or reason to the order he’s going in as he works his way through every single active NFL player. In fact, Sherman got a list of all the players in the league and put it into a randomizer. That way his victims won’t be able to predict when their time is coming. If a player doesn’t have a Twitter account Sherman said that’s just a sign that they’re scared.
He was mostly unwilling to say which player he would fight when, but Sherman did reveal his next target: third year long snapper and tight end from the Tennessee Titans, Beau Brinkley.
“I don’t know much about this dude, but I’m pretty sure I can get under his skin,” Sherman boasted. “At worst, I’ll hit him with the ‘did your team win the bowl last year? mine did. lol u sour.’ That usually works.”
Sherman understands that this is a big undertaking though remains confident he will be able to provoke the thousands of active NFL players on social media before training camp starts this summer.
“I’m willing to put in the work. That’s just one of the many reasons why I’m the best. And it’s about time everyone found that out, one flame war at a time.”
