Science May Have Just Unlocked The Key To The Female Orgasm

In the endless debate over the mystery of the female orgasm — and specifically, how a man’s penis size correlates to it — we’ve often heard the saying, “it’s not the size of the boat, it’s the motion of the ocean.” If this new study is correct however, it might not be the size of the boat or the motion of the ocean, but the, uh, shape of the dock the boat pulls into.

When porn stars were recently asked which sexual position makes them orgasm the most, while the answer was overwhelmingly “missionary,” many noted that the way a man’s specific parts fit with their very specific lady parts was also an important factor to consider. Which makes sense, as a new study has found that it’s actually the size and position of a woman’s vagina that affects her ability to orgasm.

The study, which was conducted by experts at Indiana University, found that a woman with a clitoris that’s positioned with 1 inch or less from their urinary tract will find it easier to orgasm through penetrative sex.

This is because the close proximity to the urinary tract allows a woman to enjoy sufficient satisfactory friction around her clitoris, which enables her to climax during sex.

But, if a woman’s clitoris is positioned 1 inch or more away from her urinary tract, it’s unlikely she will be able to achieve an orgasm through penetration.

In other words, ladies, you may want to get out the tape measure, but not to use on your fella. Elisabeth Lloyd, from the Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction, suggests that women explore their lady parts to get a better idea of what might work best. At the very least, this explains why some women are able to achieve orgasm through penetrative sex while others cannot.
