In the near future, all photos will be selfies. It’s best to accept this inevitability now. The front page of the New York Times. A picture of Barack Obama taking a selfie with Karolos Papoulias? Sports photojournalists will be obsolete, having been replaced by athletes whipping out their cellphones and snapping a quick shot while running for a touchdown. It’s sad, but it’s true, and already, the negative effects of the selfie are being chronicled on “Selfies at Serious Places,” which aims to shame the kind of people who, well, see above. THUMBS UP FOR GENOCIDE.
