So What Do the Spidey Musical Producers Think of the Show?

They think it’s like canine feces!

Certainly, the critics agree that it resembles what happens about three hours after you feed a dog, but it’s more than a little worrying when the producer tasked with turning it into gold, or at least an element that resembles something valuable, thinks it’s that bad. The producer in question, Michael Cohl, actually said this when asked if this by-now infamous bomb he’s currently retooling will ruin his career:

“It might … It’s a matter of the respect of those whose opinions I care about. Most will recognize that [co-producer Jeremiah Harris] and I stepped in dog poo and are trying to clean it up and pull off a miracle. We might not.”

Arguably they’re on the right track, axing the annoying and condescending “geek chorus” (which was really Taymor and her co-writer telling us how awesome their show was repeatedly) and throwing out the infamous “Shoes” number, which has actually been called a “wholesale rejection of feminism.”

Maybe they should just buy out The Spidey Project wholesale and get it over with.
