YO! IT’S GAME 5 OF THE NBA FINALS, GUYS. GET EXCITED!
No seriously, how could a basketball fan resist Sunday’s match up? Game 5s knotted at 2-2 always carry serious implications. Keep in mind neither team lost twice in a row in the Finals or in the whole post-season.
This game will come down to which versions of Miami and San Antonio we’ll see. The Big Three Heatles and the “NorBel starring a competent supporting cast” have a knack for winning. The Game 3 Miami Cavaliers just don’t have that kind of pull even if memes love those guys.
The Spurs beat Miami with the rope-a-dope or carpet bombing from downtown. We haven’t quite seen the best, patented Spurs basketball yet since Game 3’s blowout win seemed like an anomaly. Perhaps they’ll finally show up on Sunday. Or maybe Manu Ginobili will shake that bug Gary had in Veep, whatever comes first.
We’ll put it like this: you’ll tune in if you at least have a passing interest in basketball. However, if you REALLY want to have a good time, check in with our wisecracking community in this open thread. I bet you’ll love basketball and the Internets even more if you do.
