NFL fans have used the JaMarcus Russell comeback attempt/secret lap-band surgery as a distraction for the past few months. Every once in a while, there’s a rumbling that teams might be interested in his services as a reserve, but at last one of them has finally stepped forward to identify itself and be ridiculed. Lo and behold, it’s the Bears, who will reportedly bring in JaMarcus along with three other quarterbacks to be the backup to the backup to Jay Cutler.
Actually, given that the Bears top backup is a McCown, there might even be competition for Chicago’s primary QB backup position. Oh, please let this happen. It would just mean we’re the annual Cutler injury away from JaMarcus getting on the field. I’m already excited about this.
