The Depend Adult Diaper Fashion Show Is An Interesting Way To Raise Awareness

Depend adult diapers have long been the butt of many jokes (har, har!), but they’re tired of it. They provide a product that is out there helping millions of people and they’re taking steps to make change with their Underwareness campaign:

Underwareness* is both a social movement and a charitable cause. Over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage, and nearly half of them are under age 50. But nobody wants to talk about it. Until now.

To do this, they’ve created as series of ads like the one below and held a launch party in New York City featuring the fashion show and a concert with Capital Cities. Depend is going to donate $3 million to charities like the United Way and Simon Foundation For Continence by the end of their campaign, but is hoping their efforts will inspire others to do the same.

Gone will be the days when I envied my grandparents for their abilities to go to the bathroom without leaving the living room. Now I am wiser (I think) and know it is a problem that stretches far beyond the older folks of society. Just keep Tony Siragusa away from this. The Goose should not be loose.
