The Weeknd – “Valerie” x “The Zone” Video Ft. Drake

This is probably so far off base it’s not even funny, but I imagine the great majority of The Weeknd’s recording sessions going something similar to this.

— Random, half naked, drunk and or high women passed out on the floor and couches.

— Pounds of weed, lines of coke and, since all the cool kids are doing it these days, a Molly or two laying around.

— No lights cut on, only candles.

— The only two people semi-conscious are Abel (Weeknd) and the engineer.

From there, the mood is set and songs like “Valerie” are created. Such a scenario is the only logical explanation why damn near every song of his sounds as if they were created in the most vice-filled situations possible. Not that I’m complaining though.
