You know, of the science fiction properties out there that don’t have an MMO, we’re having a hard time thinking of one that lends itself less to the genre than “Doctor Who”. Puzzle games? Definitely. Adventure games? Definitely. And both exist.
But since Doctor Who is the only profitable franchise the BBC has these days, the BBC is ten years behind the times, and David Cameron seems out to privatize everything he can get away with, a Who MMO is on the way.
There is precisely zero word on what gameplay will be like, what characters you’ll be able to play, or how that whole time travel thing will be incorporated into the game, but we’ll find out, for good or ill, later this year.
